The Health-Related Sciences instructional Pathway is designed for students who are interested in careers to promote the health and wellness of individuals and communities such as kinesiology, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, or public health.


Exercise, Sport and Wellness
This program prepares individuals to apply business, coaching, and physical education principles to the organization, administration, and management of athletic programs and teams, fitness/rehabilitation facilities and health clubs, sport recreation services, and athletic training programs. This includes instruction in program planning and development; business and financial management principles; sales, marketing and recruitment; event promotion, scheduling and management; facilities management; public relations; legal aspects of sports; and applicable health and safety standards.

Kinesiology, Health and Wellness
The Kinesiology, Health and Wellness program emphasizes principles for the growth and development of a healthy lifestyle. Students acquire the knowledge and understanding of problem solving strategies to integrate, apply and promote personal, individual or group behavior conducive to the maintenance or restoration of mental and physical wellness.

Nursing
Nursing is a growing profession full of opportunities. The School of Nursing allows students to pursue many different levels of careers from Medical Secretary, Nursing Assistant, to Vocational and Registered Nursing.

Nutrition and Dietetics
The study of Nutrition and Dietetics provides a broad foundation in a practical and personally applicable exposure to a variety of scientific areas of nutrition, such as Chemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology and Biology. Students in the program learn how the scientific method and process contribute to nutritional requirements and how nutrients function from a cellular to a more practical level and then apply this knowledge to their own health.
