On Thursday, January 16, Faculty Advising and Student Support Coordinators (FASSCs) from 蜜桃社鈥檚 six Pathway Engagement Centers came together for a virtual data workshop facilitated by Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Wendy McEwen. The 90-minute Zoom session provided coordinators with valuable insights and tools to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting processes within their respective centers.

Participants represented the following Pathway Engagement Centers:

  • Advanced Technical Arts and Trades and Education and Teacher Preparation Engagement Center
  • Business, Law, and Computer Information Systems (BLCIS) Engagement Center
  • Fine and Performing Arts (FPA) Engagement Center
  • Health-Related Sciences (HRS) Engagement Center
  • Languages and Humanities/Social and Behavioral Sciences (LHSS) Engagement Center
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Engagement Center

The workshop opened with an overview of student data collection and reporting processes tailored for Student Success Teams and Engagement Centers. Dean McEwen walked participants through the APlus Attendance data tracking system, highlighting administrative reports available to teams and how these reports can be used to track student participation and measure the effectiveness of support services offered in each center.

In addition, Dean McEwen introduced the new Engagement Center End of Semester Reporting process, providing step-by-step guidance to ensure consistent and meaningful reporting across all Pathway Engagement Centers.

A key component of the session involved reviewing and finalizing the Pathway Engagement Center Service Area Outcomes (SAOs)鈥攎easurable goals designed to assess how well each center supports student learning and success. Coordinators worked collaboratively to refine these outcomes, ensuring they align with RCC鈥檚 broader Guided Pathways and student equity goals.

The workshop concluded with a discussion on collecting student qualitative feedback. Coordinators agreed on a timeline and method to gather direct input from students, ensuring student voices help shape the future of engagement center services and programming.

This collaborative session reflects RCC鈥檚 ongoing commitment to data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement, ensuring that Pathway Engagement Centers remain responsive to student needs and focused on promoting equitable student success.
