蜜桃社 (RCC) has been selected as one of six colleges statewide to implement the Foster Youth College Access Demonstration Project, a groundbreaking initiative designed to enhance educational opportunities for foster youth.

This prestigious two-year grant, running from Spring 2025 through Summer 2027, will enable RCC to strengthen collaborations with K-12 school districts and community partners to provide critical support services for high school foster youth. Through this initiative, RCC aims to encourage more students to participate in dual enrollment programs, equipping them with the necessary tools to graduate from high school and transition seamlessly into postsecondary education.

This funding represents a major step forward in expanding access and resources for foster youth. The grant will be awarded over two years, year 1, $90,000 and in year 2, $90,000.  At RCC, we are committed to removing barriers and ensuring that every student has the support they need to succeed.

Students who have encountered foster care are among those least likely to both enroll in and complete college. While 93% of foster youth indicate that they want to go to college, just 49% of foster youth enroll in college within one year of high school graduation, compared to 63% of all students, and 54% of low-income students. For this reason, RCC is excited to continue to build resources for our foster care community.
